Pontiac G6 GT. A peak said it was manual.
Hot take: this generation of G6, especially in coupe form, was probably the last attractive car made in America.

This generation of G6, especially with the 3.9L/manual combo was an absolute riot to drive.
IIRC that engine had something like 90% of it’s torque available from 1500-5500 rpms!

Don’t think this is the manual one. Single ex haust means 3.5L.
GTP / GT Sports have dual split exhaust .

Even the 3.5 was decent actually . P eak torque was also around 2k so it was sipping fuel on the highway. I averaged better mileage in mine better than my friend’s 2.3L Mazda3 back then.

A lot of GMs this era and prior could easily beat out smaller 4 cyls for mileage in my experience.

I glanced in the window, it was dark out and a bit tinted but I thought I saw a manual shifter. I'm frequently wrong, though.

The manual and auto shift knobs look exactly the same, unless you saw a shift boot instead of a gate.

A friend in college had the G6 GXP (complete with the massive rear wing and the “beaver teeth” grill) with the manual. I couldn’t drive stick shift at the time but he and his dad loved that thing and would take it to the drag strip a lot. Got that thing going pretty quick too!

I mean, there was a leather snood, but you can have that with auto or manual. What I saw was a ball looking thing with no shift button like most autos have.

Yeah the button is actually forward of the knob hidden under it. You squeeze it instead of thumb-pressing it, so the button is hard to locate. Easiest way is still to look at the boot.

Google shows the autos don't have the snood though? Could be wrong. Regardless of transmission, they're still beautifuk cars.

They are nice looking cars. It’s astonishing how close the G6 and Solara designs are and yet they didn’t sue each other, at least not that I know of.

I know you’re trolling but I feel COMPELLED to leave this.

I do like the Viper, but something about the last generation just looked a bit... off to my eyes. The G6 Coupe is perfectly proportioned. I was completely serious with that comment.

Genuinely not sure if you have eyes.

It’s too busy. The G6's defining features can be drawn with like two lines. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Viper for all that it is. The fact that such a batshit car was ever made is wonderful. But to look at it, meh. Thankfully you can’t see much exterior (besides the enormous hood) when you’re inside it, which is where you want to be.
